Overview
The Anritsu Spectrum Master MS276xA family consists of ultraportable spectrum analyzers that are powered over USB and controlled from a Windows-based PC, laptop or tablet. The family is offered in two lines: the MS2760A models cover 9 kHz up to 170 GHz, and the MS2762A models cover 6 GHz up to 170 GHz with higher dynamic range and lower displayed average noise level (DANL) for more demanding sensitivity requirements. Each line is available in eight frequency versions, with upper limits from 32 GHz to 170 GHz.
Measurement technology
The analyzers use Anritsu's patented nonlinear transmission line (NLTL) technology, which is also used in Anritsu vector network analyzers. The 145 GHz and 170 GHz models provide continuous broadband coverage above 110 GHz, which extends measurements into the full D band.
Form factor and use
Because of their small size, the instruments can be connected directly to the device under test, which avoids long test port cables that add loss and error at millimeter-wave frequencies. For over-the-air measurements, a waveguide horn antenna can be attached directly to the test port. The units are suited to use in the laboratory, on the production floor and in the field.
Software functions
The instruments offer channel power, adjacent channel power and occupied bandwidth measurements, along with spectrum and spectrogram displays, up to six traces, three trace detectors and 12 markers. An external 10 MHz frequency reference input and an external TTL trigger input are also provided.
