Overview
The Spectrum Master MS2762A-0145 is a member of the Anritsu MS276xA family of ultraportable spectrum analyzers. It covers 6 GHz to 145 GHz and connects through a 0.8 mm (m) test port. The MS2762A models offer more dynamic range and better DANL performance than the MS2760A models. They are aimed at applications that need high sensitivity.
The analyzer uses Anritsu's patented nonlinear transmission line (NLTL) technology, which is also used in Anritsu vector network analyzers. The instrument is pocket-sized, so it can connect directly to the device under test. This avoids long test port cables, which add loss at millimeter-wave frequencies.
Operation
The MS2762A-0145 is powered over USB and controlled from a Windows-based PC, laptop or tablet. It can be used in the lab, on the manufacturing floor or in the field. Built-in measurements include channel power, adjacent channel power and occupied bandwidth. Spectrum and spectrogram displays are available. An external 10 MHz frequency reference input and an external TTL trigger input are provided.
Applications
Typical uses include automotive radar, 5G and 802.11ad/WiGig development, satellite communications and wireless backhaul. It is also used for radio astronomy, antenna beam pattern testing and on-wafer spectrum measurements together with a vector network analyzer.
