Overview

The Anritsu Spectrum Master MS2760A-0145 is the 145 GHz frequency model of the MS2760A ultraportable spectrum analyzer family. It covers 9 kHz to 145 GHz and has a 0.8 mm (m) test port connector.

The instrument uses Anritsu's patented nonlinear transmission line (NLTL) technology, which Anritsu also uses in its vector network analyzers. Anritsu describes the 145 GHz and 170 GHz models as the first handheld millimeter-wave spectrum analyzers with broadband, continuous coverage beyond the 110 GHz barrier. This supports work in the D band and in millimeter-wave applications such as radio astronomy, automotive radar and antenna beam pattern testing.

The analyzer is small enough to connect directly to the device under test. This removes the need for long test port cables, which add loss and error at millimeter-wave frequencies. For over-the-air measurements, a waveguide horn antenna can be attached directly to the test port.

Operation

The MS2760A-0145 is USB-powered and controlled from a Windows-based PC, laptop or tablet. It can be used in the lab, on the production line or in the field. The software provides channel power, adjacent channel power and occupied bandwidth measurements, spectrum and spectrogram displays, up to six traces with three detector types, and up to 12 markers. Inputs for an external 10 MHz frequency reference and an external TTL trigger are provided.
