Overview
The VIAVI OneAdvisor 800 is a modular, portable test platform for the installation and maintenance of wireless, fiber and transport networks. Its multi-function design covers a range of test applications in one instrument, so different user groups can use the same platform. Test capability depends on the plug-in modules and software options fitted.
In laboratories and manufacturing, the OneAdvisor 800 works as a general-purpose spectrum analyzer for measuring and analysing RF signals across a wide frequency range. For radio and antenna system installations, it checks fiber and cable connectivity to confirm that these components are correctly integrated.
For mobile network evaluation, the platform measures signal strength and quality, finds coverage gaps and assesses network performance metrics. It also detects and locates sources of RF interference that degrade wireless network performance.
The platform also validates transport networks. It supports Ethernet bandwidth testing up to 100Gbps, including throughput, latency and packet loss, and it verifies Precision Time Protocol (PTP) synchronization for 5G radio X-Haul networks.
Modularity and workflow
The mainframe offers dual-bay, detachable or plug-in modularity through a module carrier. Job Manager automates workflows across test functions through the cloud-based StrataSync service, and Smart Access Anywhere (SAA) provides remote access and coaching.
