Overview
The VIAVI OneAdvisor 800 is a portable field test tool for installing and maintaining high-capacity networks up to 800G. It is intended for metro/core, data center interconnect and business services testing, and uses the same user interface as the T-BERD/MTS family.
400G and 800G Ethernet technology draws more power and produces more heat than lower-capacity networks. The OneAdvisor 800 addresses this with its battery capacity and heat dissipation design, which allow cooling of ZR pluggables in the field. One or two Power Expansion Modules (PEM) can be added to extend 400G or 800GE testing time without access to AC power.
Modularity
The platform is modular: the 400G and 800G Transport Modules provide rate and optic coverage, and the platform pairs with VIAVI 4100-Series OTDR, WDM channel checker and OSA modules as well as the Timing Expansion Module V2 for synchronization measurements. Test capabilities can be added as requirements change.
Workflows and remote operation
Built-in scripted workflows such as QuickCheck, RFC 2544 and OTN Check Optics Self-Test help keep results consistent across technicians. Job Manager with the cloud-based StrataSync service automates workflows, and Smart Access Anywhere (SAA) provides remote access and coaching.
