Overview

The VIAVI OneExpert Fiber ONX-700 is a handheld, all-in-one tester for residential and small business service installation over PON. It validates Ethernet, PON and WiFi 7 performance at speeds up to 10 Gbps, with a complete test taking under a minute, and is intended to reduce repeat visits during last-mile service delivery.

Test Process Automation

VIAVI Test Process Automation (TPA) guides the technician through standardized workflows with one-button testing. The OneCheck workflows automate pass/fail testing for Ethernet, WiFi and PON, and results are saved with geo tags.

Integrated Optical Tools

Depending on the package, the unit includes a broadband optical power meter or a PON selective power meter, plus a visual fault locator. The selective power meter measures coexistent wavelengths separately and reads the PON-ID to confirm connection to the expected OLT. TruePON automatically verifies total optical loss, PON-ID, OLT connectivity and received power against the ODN class. With VIAVI SFPs, the unit can emulate an ONT for throughput testing on GPON and XGS-PON. USB fiber scopes are supported, with automatic end-face analysis.

Rugged, Modular Design

The instrument is IP54 rated, weatherproof and drop-tested. Its modular design supports upgrades for 25G and 50G PON. It also has integrated GPS, StrataSync connectivity, mobile app support and a field-replaceable high-capacity battery for multi-day use.
