Overview

The Anritsu ShockLine MS46524B is a 4-port performance vector network analyzer (VNA) in a 3U high chassis. It is offered in three frequency ranges from 50 kHz to 43.5 GHz and measures 16 single-ended and mixed-mode S-parameters of passive multiport and differential devices.

Typical applications include characterizing and manufacturing multiport mobile network devices and equipment for 28 GHz and 39 GHz 5G applications, differential cables, high-speed data interconnects and system integration components. The frequency range is set by Option 10, 20 or 43, which cover RF to microwave frequencies.

Option 2 adds differential and mixed-mode real-time bandpass and lowpass time domain functionality. Lowpass time domain provides a TDR-like display that can show real impedance over distance or time. On the 8.5 GHz model, Option 61 adds bias tees so DC power can be supplied to devices during testing.

Software and remote control

The MS46524B uses the same GUI, software, command syntax, drivers and programming environments as the rest of the ShockLine family. It supports SCPI command programming over a LAN interface, and IVI-C drivers support common programming environments. Manual testing through the full graphical user interface requires a user-supplied touchscreen monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Key Features

  • Specified performance to 43.5 GHz with Extended K ports
  • Signal integrity testing of passive multiport and differential devices
  • Wide dynamic range for measuring very low reflection artifacts
