Overview

The VIAVI UPG-ONX-630SWX-730-PON is a OneExpert HFC mainframe upgrade package that moves an ONX-630 SWX configuration to the ONX-730 platform. It is one of the PON Selective Power Meter packages in the OneExpert HFC (ONX-720/730) family, which tests DOCSIS, Ethernet, PON and WiFi 7 service throughput up to 10 Gbps.

This package includes the PON selective optical power meter and visual fault locator (VFL), OneCheck Ethernet, OneCheck WiFi, 10G SpeedCheck and the ONX 730 SWX software package. The selective power meter measures coexistent PON wavelengths separately and can read the PON-ID to confirm the connection to the expected OLT. TruePON analysis, which checks Total Optical Loss, PON-ID, OLT connectivity and received power against the ODN class, is available as an option.

DOCSIS and RF

The ONX-720/730 continues the RF and DOCSIS testing of the ONX-620/630 and supports existing ONX DOCSIS/RF modules. The upgrade mainframe works with the OneExpert CATV D3.1 modules listed by VIAVI.

Automation and construction

VIAVI Test Process Automation provides one-button OneCheck workflows that give automated pass/fail results with geo-tagged saved results. The unit is IP54 rated, drop-tested and modular. It has integrated GPS, StrataSync and mobile app support, a field-replaceable high-capacity battery, and an upgrade path to 25G/50G PON and DOCSIS 4.0.
