VIAVI E41MPO96SM High-Capacity MPO Based External Switch with Connecting Kit - 96 Ports

The VIAVI E41MPO96SM is a high-capacity external optical switch with connecting kit offering 96 MPO-based output ports plus one common port. It belongs to the VIAVI high capacity MPO based external switch portfolio, which is optimized for high fiber count cables and networks with many FTTP service points such as FTTH and DAA/DWDM networks.

The switch connects externally to the T-BERD/MTS-4000 V2 and OneAdvisor 800 platforms via USB and is powered by the test platform. Coupled with an OTDR 4100 series module, it allows OTDR or bidirectional OTDR (with the TrueBIDIR software option) acceptance tests of data center high fiber count cables to run as an automatic bulk sequence. It can test native MPO/MTP links directly or, with fanout/breakout cables, simplex fibers terminated on a patch panel.

Cable-SLM automation

The automated switch sequence is managed with the Cable-SLM application, which provides an overview of a high fiber count project with the pass/fail status of each fiber and connector tested. A "Test All Fibers" function initiates a fully automated test sequence and delivers a visual verdict for each fiber of a 12-fiber MPO connector. The sequence can start at any fiber number, and individual fibers can be troubleshot for a precise diagnosis of a fault.

During network construction, contractors can test many fibers remotely from a single central point such as a local office. Tests can be launched or controlled remotely with the SmartAccess Anywhere (SAA) software option, and the solution is StrataSync enabled for centralized asset, configuration, test data and workflow management.
