Overview
FiberComplete PRO is a suite of fiber test and certification capabilities that lets field technicians certify and troubleshoot fiber links. It combines bidirectional insertion loss (IL), optical return loss (ORL) and OTDR acceptance testing into one automated workflow that runs from a single test port connection and a single key press. VIAVI states that the added automation and test sequencing can cut fiber acceptance testing time by up to 80%.
The application handles the required acceptance measurements, including bidirectional tests, and sequences them automatically for single fibers or high fiber count cables. A data link over the fiber under test configures the far-end unit automatically and exchanges results between the two ends. TrueBIDIR analysis gives the bidirectional OTDR event loss on the instrument. Results are saved automatically, PDF reports are generated on the instrument, and reports can be uploaded to StrataSync as part of the Test Process Automation (TPA) suite.
Hardware platform
FiberComplete PRO runs with the FiberComplete integrated loss, ORL and OTDR modules (4100 Series) on the T-BERD/MTS-2000 V2, T-BERD/MTS-4000 V2 and OneAdvisor 800 platforms. Each 4100 module has a light source, a calibrated power meter and a built-in data link, so it can measure bidirectional IL/ORL, length and OTDR in one test sequence from one optical port. It supports point-to-point and point-to-multipoint (PON) networks, and the 4100 C module also covers hollow core fiber.
