Overview

The Anritsu Site Master MS2089A is a handheld instrument that combines cable and antenna analysis with an integrated spectrum analyzer, with an optional vector network analyzer (VNA) and vector voltmeter. It is intended for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting RF communication systems up to 6 GHz in telecommunications, broadcasting, DAS, satellite monitoring and aerospace and defense applications.

The MS2089A is offered in two configurations: a 5 kHz to 4 GHz cable and antenna analyzer with a 9 kHz to 4 GHz spectrum analyzer, or a 5 kHz to 6 GHz cable and antenna analyzer with a 9 kHz to 6 GHz spectrum analyzer. The instrument weighs less than 8.5 lb and uses an IK08-rated 10-inch touch screen.

Cable and antenna analysis

The cable and antenna analyzer measures return loss, cable loss, VSWR, distance-to-fault, 1-port phase and Smith chart, with optional time domain reflectometry and 2-port transmission. Built-in PDF/HTML report generation and on-instrument cable lists support close-out documentation of installations.

Spectrum and signal analysis

Compared with the MS2085A, the MS2089A adds a spectrum analyzer for transmitter quality measurements and interference hunting. Options extend it with real-time spectrum analysis, IQ waveform capture and streaming, interference finding, channel scanning, coverage mapping, EMF measurement, AM/FM modulation measurement and WCDMA, LTE FDD/TDD and 5G NR FR1 signal analysis.

Vector network analysis

The optional 2-port, 1-path VNA covers 5 kHz to 4 or 6 GHz with up to 16001 data points, factory ReadyCal plus mechanical and InstaCal user calibrations, and 16 display formats including Log Mag, VSWR, Phase, Smith Chart, Group Delay and Polar.
