Overview

The VIAVI MSRC-C23500FB-M100-MFA is a member of the Multiple Application Platform (MAP) General Purpose Light Source (mSRC-C2) family. It contains two basic (non-TEC) Fabry-Perot lasers at 1310 nm and 1550 nm. Each wavelength has its own output on single-mode fiber with FC/APC connectors.

Fabry-Perot lasers emit light at commonly used discrete wavelengths. They have a spectral width of roughly 5 nm and a high output power level, which makes them suitable sources for general loss measurements on broadband optical components. Isolators in the module keep the output stable when there are reflections from open PC or dirty connectors.

Platform

The mSRC is part of the LightDirect module family for the MAP platform. MAP is a modular optical test and measurement platform for rack-mount or benchtop use, with chassis that hold 2, 3 or 8 application modules. The mSRC-C2 is compatible with all current MAP-300 and MAP-200 chassis. The platform is LXI compliant and provides SCPI-based automation drivers, PC-based management tools and a web-enabled multiuser interface with summary and detailed views.
