Overview

The VIAVI MSRC-C21308FP-M101-MFP is a member of the Multiple Application Platform (MAP) General Purpose Light Source (mSRC-C2) family. It is a basic (non-TEC) Fabry-Perot (FP) laser module providing individual outputs at 850 nm and 1310 nm on 50 µm multimode fiber with encircled-flux (EF) compliant launch conditions and FC/PC connectors.

Fabry-Perot lasers emit light at commonly used discrete wavelengths, with a spectral width in the region of 5 nm and a high output power level. They are suited to general loss measurements of broadband optical components. The multimode versions are offered at 850 nm and 1310 nm, with launch conditions per IEC 62614, which is important for accurate loss measurement of multimode components and systems.

Platform

The mSRC is part of the LightDirect module family of the MAP platform, a modular rack-mountable or benchtop optical test and measurement system with chassis that host 2, 3 or 8 application modules. The mSRC-C2 is compatible with all current MAP-300 and MAP-200 chassis. The platform is LXI compliant with SCPI-based automation drivers and PC-based management tools, and its graphical user interface offers both summary and detailed module views for laboratory and manufacturing use.
