Overview
The VIAVI Radio Analysis Modules (RAxxMB) are a family of radio analysis modules for the OneAdvisor 800 wireless field test platform. Each module performs RF spectrum and interference analysis, records in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) components of RF signals for detailed signal profiling, and assesses RF signal quality and coverage. The family consists of four models with upper frequency limits of 9 GHz, 18.5 GHz, 32 GHz and 44 GHz; all models start at 9 kHz and include pluggable-optics hardware for Ethernet testing up to 100GE.
The spectrum analyzer provides swept and real-time measurement modes. With the RA-RTSA-100 option, real-time persistent spectrum analysis covers up to 110 MHz of instantaneous bandwidth, and the RA-IQ-CAP option records digital IQ data at configurable bandwidths. Gated sweep and TDD Auto Gated Spectrum (TAGS) options allow interference analysis on LTE-TDD and 5G NR networks, and an interference analysis option adds spectrogram and RSSI logging, interference finder and radar chart views.
Cellular and transport test options
Software options add LTE/LTE-A FDD and TDD, DSS and 5G NR signal analysis and over-the-air (OTA) analysis, a DSS/LTE/NR blind scanner, 5G NR cell phase synchronization, 5G RAN analysis, 5G NR test-model measurements for Releases 15 and 16, NSA OTA analysis, channel scanning and EMF analysis. The module also includes an internal RF power meter and supports external VIAVI directional and terminating power sensors.
The Ethernet test interfaces support 10M/100M/1000M electrical LAN and 10, 25, 40, 50 and 100 GigE LAN through SFP/SFP+/SFP28 and QSFP ports, with RFC 2544, Y.1564, QuickCheck, optics self-test, cable test and 5G NR discovery workflows. GNSS connectivity, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are available as options.
