Overview
The VIAVI SmartPocket V2 OLS-35V2 is a small, rugged optical light source from the SmartPocket V2 OLS-3xV2 range. It is used for field insertion loss measurement and continuity checks on fiber optic networks.
The SmartPocket V2 light sources are designed to be used with the SmartPocket V2 OLP-3xV2 optical power meters for insertion loss and continuity testing. Together they cover single mode (SM) and multimode (MM) fiber networks. When paired with a SmartPocket V2 power meter, the source supports Auto-λ and Multi-λ modes. It can also generate tones that the meter detects for fiber tracing.
The instrument is pocket-sized and designed for outdoor use. It switches on instantly with no boot time and has a backlit graphical display with context-sensitive softkeys. It can run on alkaline AA batteries, NiMH AA rechargeable batteries, an AC power adapter or power over USB. Switchable optical adapter versions are available.
