Overview
The VIAVI SmartPocket V2 OLP-35V2 belongs to the OLP-3xV2 range of broadband optical power meters. It measures optical power levels and loss in single mode and multimode fiber networks. The meters are designed for technicians of all skill levels. Used with VIAVI SmartPocket V2 optical light sources, they perform insertion loss and continuity testing.
The instrument has a backlit graphical display with context-sensitive softkeys. It offers OptiChek, a measurement mode that needs no setup, and shows pass/fail results. Paired with SmartPocket V2 light sources, it supports automatic wavelength detection (Auto-λ) and multi-wavelength (Multi-λ) measurement. It can also trace fibers by detecting tones generated by those sources. The instrument turns on instantly, with no boot time, and has low power consumption for extended continuous use.
Connectivity and data
The meter stores more than 1,000 test results. Results can be downloaded to a PC over USB-C or uploaded through Bluetooth to the VIAVI Mobile Tech App. It runs on alkaline AA cells, NiMH AA rechargeable cells, an AC power adapter or USB power. The recommended recalibration interval is three years.
