Overview
The NSC200-GPON-PLUS is a standard PON package of the VIAVI Network & Service Companion (NSC-200). It combines GPON, Ethernet, SpeedCheck 1G and Speedtest 1G in one compact, screenless hand-held unit for service activation and troubleshooting.
The NSC-200 lets technicians and contractors validate both network and service layers up to 10G before sharing test results with customers and providers. GPON testing uses the VIAVI GPON SFP for ONU/ONT emulation and reports PON activation state, power levels, PON ID and ODN class, so technicians can confirm that PON service delivery is good before troubleshooting the premises.
Ethernet tests cover frames, IP connectivity, ping, traceroute and web connectivity. Throughput tests in this package use VIAVI SpeedCheck and Ookla Speedtest over the 1GE port. Tests run as one-button 'OneCheck' applications that give results on one screen.
Operation and Reporting
The unit is operated from a smart device over Bluetooth using the VIAVI Mobile Tech app. A Job Manager organizes jobs, test results and reports. Reports can be generated on board and submitted through the StrataSync cloud or shared directly by email. VIAVI Fusion can use NSCs as remote-controlled test agents.
