Overview
The NSC200-ENTERPRISE-PLUS is an enterprise standard package of the VIAVI Network & Service Companion (NSC-200), a compact, screenless hand-held test device for Ethernet, enterprise and data center networks. According to the ordering information, this package combines Ethernet testing with TrueSpeed 1G throughput testing.
The NSC-200 supports Ethernet tests on network layers 2, 3 and 4 to simplify Ethernet turn-up and troubleshooting. Active throughput tests based on VIAVI TrueSpeed (RFC-6349) help identify customer-affecting throughput issues. The platform supports Ethernet interfaces up to 10G, and further test applications and higher-rate throughput licenses are available as options.
The unit can validate business services as a standalone unit, or act as a remote loopback device when combined with the T-BERD/MTS-5800 for Y.1564 and RFC2544 tests (loopback is an option). It can also be left on site for 24/7 monitoring sessions, long-term root cause failure analysis and SLA monitoring, and can act as a remote-controlled test agent for the VIAVI Fusion centralized test system.
Workflow and connectivity
The NSC is operated through the VIAVI Mobile Tech app over Bluetooth on Android and iOS smart devices. Job Manager helps technicians manage jobs, test results and reports. Reports can be generated on board and submitted through the StrataSync cloud platform or by email from a smartphone or tablet.
