Overview
The NSC100-XGSPON-PRO is a standard package of the VIAVI Network & Service Companion (NSC-100). The NSC-100 is a compact handheld, screenless test device that combines PON, Ethernet and WiFi test interfaces with VIAVI OneCheck applications for network validation and service testing by installers and frontline technicians.
This package combines XGS-PON, Ethernet and WiFi testing with VIAVI SpeedCheck 1G and Ookla Speedtest 1G throughput tests. In XGS-PON mode the unit emulates an ONU/ONT using a VIAVI XGSPON SFP and reports PON activation state, power levels, PON ID and ODN class according to ITU-T G.9807 and G.988.
Testing at each access point (XGS-PON, Ethernet, WiFi) lets technicians confirm PON service delivery before troubleshooting the premises and separate faults between the access network and in-premises distribution. WiFi tests cover coverage, channel noise, airtime and throughput, with recommendations when performance is below expectation.
Workflow and reporting
The NSC is operated from the VIAVI Mobile Tech app over Bluetooth. Job Manager organizes jobs, test results and reports, and reports can be submitted through StrataSync in the cloud or sent by email from a smartphone or tablet. NSC units can also act as remote-controlled test agents for the VIAVI Fusion centralized test system.
