Overview
The NSC100-LOOPBACK-BASE is a standard ordering package of the VIAVI Network & Service Companion (NSC-100) that provides Ethernet Loopback at 1G. The Network & Service Companion is a compact, screenless hand-held device that combines multiple test interfaces (PON, Ethernet, WiFi) with VIAVI OneCheck applications for network validation and service testing.
In enterprise and business service work, the NSC-100 can act as a remote loopback device when combined with the T-BERD/MTS-5800 for Y.1564 and RFC 2544 tests. The loopback function supports port loopback and source-specific VIAVI loopback at Layer 2 and Layer 3.
Operation and workflow
The unit is controlled via Bluetooth from the VIAVI Mobile Tech app on Android or iOS smart devices. Job Manager helps technicians manage jobs, test results and reports, and results can be submitted through the StrataSync cloud platform or by email. VIAVI Fusion, a centralized test system, can use NSC units as remote-controlled test agents, and remote control supports leave-behind use for long-term testing and failure analysis.
Additional capabilities such as 10G loopback, TWAMP reflector, throughput tests, PON and WiFi testing are available as options.
