Overview
The EVOIA Drive Test HTB-EER19 is an unattended drive test unit (Hybrid Terminal Box) from VIAVI for troubleshooting and quality assessment of GSM-R, MCX and private telecoms networks. It is designed to be installed in test or commercial trains: once switched on, it runs in unattended mode for the duration of the journey.
Each HTB is packaged with two MNO modems or two radio modules and a scanner. Traces from the modem and radio data are collected continuously throughout the test execution and enable analysis of 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and MCx networks. Test runs can be conducted as single events or as part of a regular schedule.
Collected data is uploaded to a central server through an internal 4G modem for detailed analysis. Data from several campaigns, from the same or different HTB units or from other drive test solutions, can be aggregated. Results are displayed in EVOIA Assure, the VIAVI monitoring and troubleshooting platform, and post-processed data can be exported in .csv format for use in third-party applications.
The unit is part of the EVOIA Drive Test family, which supports GSM-R and is prepared for the transition to FRMCS, allowing operators to verify their networks before, during and after the handover from GSM-R to FRMCS.
