Overview

The Nicslab XDAC B-40 (XDAC-40MUB-R4G8) is a compact 40-channel source measurement system. Each channel independently sources and measures voltage or current, with 4-quadrant operation so it can both source and sink current. It is intended for low-power applications, from simple electronic circuits to complex photonic integrated circuits.

Each channel runs in Constant Current (CC) or Constant Voltage (CV) mode. Voltage ranges of ±2.5 V, ±5 V, ±10 V and ±16 V are software-selectable at 16-bit resolution. The Basic version has a fixed ±16 V output range, and the higher-resolution sub-ranges are a Premium feature. Voltage and current are read back in real time.

Control and software

The instrument is controlled through a graphical user interface or with SCPI commands from Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW or C#. It connects over Ethernet, and a USB-to-Ethernet adaptor is included. The Premium tier adds saving and uploading configurations, CC/CV sequence automation, data recording and per-channel short-circuit protection.

Configurations

The unit is offered with a single-ended, shared-ground output configuration for general-purpose sourcing and measurement. A differential output configuration is available for applications that need differential signaling, including a version with SMA connectors.
