Overview
The Luna FFP-TF is a Fiber Fabry-Perot (FFP) tunable filter. It is built around an all-fiber Fabry-Perot super-cavity, is based on Luna's patented FFP technology, and is designed for high finesse and low loss in a rugged package.
The filter has no lenses. Because there are no collimating optics, it avoids problems found in other Fabry-Perot component technologies, such as misalignment, sensitivity to the environment and extraneous modes.
The filter's response follows the Airy function, so its behavior stays very close to the theoretical model. This lets engineers design it into OEM systems with predictable results. The FFP-TF is the smaller and faster-tuning member of the FFP-TF/FFP-TF2 family. Standard configurations range from finesse 100 to 6000, and custom wavelength bands, free spectral ranges, finesse values and bandwidths are available for specialized applications.
