Overview
NE-ONE Enterprise from Calnex is a network emulator that builds software defined test networks in one system. It recreates real-world network conditions that can be controlled and repeated, so organizations can analyze, predict and verify application performance before deployment. Typical uses include rolling out enterprise applications, data center consolidation, SD-WAN, VDI and WAN optimization evaluation, cloud migration and mobile app testing.
Routing and topologies
Traffic can be routed between any combination of physical ports and Soft Ports, port-to-port or port-to-multi-port, including across bridged networks. Soft Ports are subdivisions of physical ports. They let several users or teams run independent test networks on the same appliance. The Network Topology Wizard provides ready-made templates such as Point-to-Point, Hub & Spoke and Cloud, and a free-form designer is also available. Pre-installed profiles cover LAN, WAN, Cloud, Satellite, Mobile, DSL and WiFi conditions.
Impairments and analysis
Traffic can be classified, routed and impaired by any packet field across protocol layers 2–7 using a Wireshark-like syntax, with more than 100 impairment parameters. The Network Scenario Builder automates time-based transitions. Intelligent Packet Replay recreates application traffic flows from clients and devices that do not need to physically exist. Built-in graphs, reports, predictive analytics and full PCAP packet capture show how applications perform.
Integration and deployment
NE-ONE Enterprise offers a CLI and a full RESTful API, the same API used by the GUI. Network Variables give no-code automation: formulas and timelines can drive values such as bandwidth, latency and loss. An embedded JavaScript engine and the Packet Engine Programming Language (PEPL) support custom packet-level behavior. The emulator is available as hardware, virtual (VMware, Proxmox, OpenStack, KVM) and cloud (AWS, Azure) appliances.
