Overview

The Anritsu MS27200A Microwave Spectrum Monitor Module is an OEM spectrum analyzer assembly designed for integration into custom systems and platforms. Frequency range options cover 9 kHz to 9, 14, 20, 26.5, 32, 43.5 or 54 GHz. Control is entirely through SCPI commands over Ethernet or USBTMC, and the module performs its measurements without an external PC to process trace data.

The module specifies a displayed average noise level of –164 dBm in 1 Hz RBW with preamplifier and a typical third-order intercept of +20 dBm. Analysis and real-time spectrum analysis bandwidth is 22 MHz as standard and can be extended to 55 MHz, 120 MHz or 150 MHz by option. Built-in capabilities include real-time spectrum analysis, IQ waveform capture and streaming, AM/FM demodulation and modulation measurements, pulse analysis, and WCDMA, LTE and 5G NR signal analysis.

Integration and control

Communication uses the Gigabit Ethernet port on the board, with DHCP or static IP addressing (default static address 10.0.0.2), or the USB Type-C port via USBTMC. IQ data can be captured or streamed to a PC over USB, Ethernet, or the PCIe Data Out port using the MA25101A IQ Streaming PCIe kit. A built-in watchdog timer and automatic recovery after power loss support continuous 24/7 operation.

Software

The module works with MX280005A IQ Signal Master for post-processing of captured IQ data, MX280001A Vision Monitor for automated long-term monitoring and trace archiving, and MX280007A Mobile InterferenceHunter for locating interference sources.

Applications

Typical uses include signal intelligence (SIGINT), technical surveillance countermeasures (TSCM), interference hunting on vehicles, ships or drones, drone detection, and monitoring within manufacturing environments or private 5G networks.
