Overview
The Anritsu Field Master Pro MS2090A is a handheld, touchscreen real-time spectrum analyzer. It covers 9 kHz up to 9, 14, 20, 26.5, 32, 43.5 or 54 GHz, depending on the frequency option. It is aimed at field testing of 5G, LTE, wireless backhaul, aerospace and defense, satellite and radar systems.
The manufacturer specifies a displayed average noise level (DANL) of -164 dBm with the preamplifier on and a typical third-order intercept of +20 dBm. These figures support spectrum clearing, radio alignment, and harmonic and distortion measurements. For modulation measurements on digital systems, up to 150 MHz of analysis bandwidth is available. Typical amplitude accuracy is ±0.5 dB, which applies to transmitter power and spurious testing.
Measurement modes
All versions are ruggedized for field use. Each one combines a full-span swept-tuned spectrum analyzer with a spectrogram display for tracking intermittent or interfering signals. Channel power and occupied bandwidth measurements are built in. Real-time spectrum analysis spans range from 22 MHz to 150 MHz depending on the options installed, covering tasks from cellular interference monitoring to full ISM-band signal analysis. Optional analyzers add 5GNR, LTE FDD/TDD and WCDMA measurements, pulse analysis, AM/FM modulation analysis, EMF measurements, coverage mapping and a channel scanner.
IQ capture and software
IQ data, including 5G frames, can be captured and saved for off-line processing on a PC. IQ data can also be streamed over USB or Ethernet, or over PCIe with the MA25101A IQ Streaming PCIe kit. Captured files can be analyzed with IQ Signal Master MX280005A software. The instrument also works with the Mobile InterferenceHunter MX280007A for multi-emitter interference hunting and with Vision MX280001A software for remote spectrum monitoring. Cable and antenna line sweep measurements are available when the analyzer is used with the S331P Site Master.
