Overview
The Anritsu MA8172B CATR Anechoic Chamber 2 uses the Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) method defined by 3GPP to carry out 5G New Radio (NR) Over the Air (OTA) tests in a small space. It is intended for mmWave development of 5G NR chipsets and devices and for UE conformance tests, including 5G NR mmWave spurious tests.
The chamber supports 2 AoA (Angle of Arrival) RRM tests, which evaluate UE communication quality and connection stability during handover between base stations. It also supports tests run with the MA8172A, and an existing MA8172A can be upgraded to the MA8172B at the customer site.
The chamber ships as three component parts, which makes it easier to transport and shortens setup time. The test terminal is simple to mount and dismount, and its mounting position is highly repeatable. Alignment Options 1, 2 and 3 are fully supported, and with the Temperature Testing Option the chamber supports FR2 tests at extreme temperatures from –10°C to +55°C.
