Overview

The MU909015C is a member of the Anritsu μOTDR Module series (MU909014C/14C6/15C/15C6). The modules install in the Network Master MT9090A mainframe to make a handheld optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) that fits in the palm of the hand. It is intended for both fiber installation and maintenance.

Anritsu specifies the series with 2 cm resolution for mapping events, deadzones of less than 1 meter (3 feet) and a dynamic range of up to 38 dB. That range covers spans of more than 150 km (90 miles), or PON-based FTTx networks with splits of up to 1 x 64.

The series also includes PON power meter, loss test set and light source functions. An integrated launch fiber measures the initial connector without external devices. The Fiber Visualizer mode lets users test fibers without OTDR expertise. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet provide connectivity, and the instrument has a rugged, sealed housing for field use.
