Overview
The Anritsu Site Master S331P is an ultraportable, headless member of the Site Master family of cable and antenna analyzers. It is intended for wireless operators and contractors, DAS installers, and public safety network installation and maintenance teams.
The instrument has no battery or display. It is powered and controlled through the USB port of a Windows tablet, laptop or desktop PC. The technical data sheet also lists the Field Master Pro MS2090A with Option 331 and the MS2080A as controllers. Two frequency options are available, 150 kHz to 4 GHz and 150 kHz to 6 GHz. This range covers low-frequency radio communications and higher-frequency applications such as LTE-U in the 5 GHz unlicensed spectrum.
Operating modes
The PC application offers two modes. Classic Mode follows the layout of earlier Site Master D models. Advanced Mode adds 8 markers instead of 6, customizable shortcuts, a full-screen view, dual display, segmented upper and lower limit lines, marker peak/valley tracking, Smith Chart (50/75 Ω), 1-port phase and transmission measurements with an external USB sensor.
Calibration and data handling
A factory default 1-Port ReadyCal is applied to all measurements except Transmission. User OSL calibration and FlexCal are also supported. Sweeps, setups and screenshots are stored on the controlling PC in standard *.dat and *.csv formats. These files can be post-processed with Line Sweep Tools (LST) and are compatible with HHST. The instrument also works with easyTest Tools and the Multiwave Smart Aligner Android application for site closeout reports.
