Overview

The Anritsu Site Master S331L is a rugged, handheld one-port cable and antenna analyzer covering 2 MHz to 4 GHz, intended for the installation and maintenance of antenna systems. It weighs under 2.0 kg (4.4 lb) including battery, is impact, dust and splash resistant, and provides more than 8 hours of continuous battery operation. It replaces the S331D in the Site Master family.

The instrument measures return loss, VSWR, cable loss, distance-to-fault (return loss and VSWR), Smith chart (50/75 Ω selectable), 1-port phase and RF power from 50 MHz to 4 GHz. A built-in InstaCal module provides one-connection calibration, and FlexCal maintains calibration when the frequency range is changed. Transmission measurements with an external sensor are available in Advanced Mode.

Operating modes

A Classic Mode follows the measurement flow of the S331D, while an Advanced Mode adds up to 8 markers, customizable shortcuts, dual display, segmented upper/lower limit lines, marker peak/valley tracking, Smith chart and 1-port phase measurements. The 800 x 480 7 in daylight-viewable TFT touch screen includes an alphanumeric keyboard and the EZ Name quick naming matrix.

Data management and connectivity

More than 1000 files can be stored internally, with fast preview of stored traces. Sweeps use the standard *.dat format compatible with Line Sweep Tools (LST) and Handheld Software Tools (HHST). Two USB Type A ports and a USB mini-B port support file transfer, USB power sensors, GPS modules, an Ethernet adapter and the USB Video Inspection Probe for IEC 61300-3-35 based optical connector inspection. The S331L is supported by the Multiwave Smart Aligner Android application for site closeout reports combining antenna alignment and line sweep results.
