Overview

The VIAVI NXE-DEVICE-1M is the single-radio configuration of the NITRO XEdge Device, the multi-carrier RF probe in the XEdge edge network intelligence platform. XEdge is used to test and continuously monitor devices connected to private mobile and Wi-Fi networks in sites such as factories, campuses, remote locations and secure zones.

The device is designed to run unattended and does not need daily management or specialized network expertise. It works with LTE and 5G technology in the FR1 band and supports automated SLA monitoring, walk tests and drive tests with automated reporting, and RF and speed tests.

Controller and analytics

XEdge devices are managed through the XEdge Controller, which runs in a secure cloud or on premises. Each customer has its own controller. The controller provides centralized management of distributed sensors from a single dashboard, AI-driven analytics and trend reports, and open APIs for integration with existing OSS/NMS workflows.

Hardware platform

The XEdge v2 sensor is the larger, multi-carrier unit in the range. It takes 1, 2 or 4 SIM cards/modems and is intended for indoor use. The NXE-DEVICE-1M is the 1-radio version, with 2-radio (NXE-DEVICE-2M) and 4-radio (NXE-DEVICE-4M) versions also available.
