Fusion TrueSpeed VNF RFC 6349 TCP Throughput Test Virtual Network Function
Virtual network function for TCP throughput testing based on the IETF RFC 6349 methodology, deployed on COTS x86 server resources.
Overview
Fusion TrueSpeed VNF gives network operators and enterprise users a repeatable, standards-based test methodology for investigating complaints about poor network performance.
The move of enterprise applications to the cloud, high-speed LTE mobile data use and the growth of over-the-top (OTT) streaming video in consumer broadband all add load to network data capacity. At the same time, customers expect high-quality data services, and unmet expectations can lead to customer churn.
Fusion TrueSpeed VNF lets operators use their installed base of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) server resources to evaluate the customer experience of their network and get actionable information for resolving problems. The tests follow the IETF RFC 6349 TCP throughput testing methodology and act as a neutral third-party evaluation of network quality.
The product runs as a virtual network function (VNF) with VMware hypervisors, Red Hat Linux and x86 compute resources. It can be deployed in all parts of an operator or enterprise network.
