Overview
The VIAVI DX3-100GQ-T12 is a QSFP28 High Speed Ethernet test module for the VIAVI TestCenter platform, part of the TestCenter 100G multi-speed family. TestCenter 100G solutions validate data center, service provider and enterprise networks built on 100G Ethernet, covering performance validation, interoperability testing and regression testing.
The QSFP28 interfaces in the family use four 25G electrical lanes. FPGA logic switches the packet generation and analysis engine between 100, 50, 40, 25 and 10G operation, depending on the speeds in the purchased base package. Hardware speed options can add speeds to a base package after purchase.
The modules install in the VIAVI N12U and N4U chassis. They take their transmit line clocking and time-stamping from the chassis control modules, and separate chassis can be synchronized through a timing chain, GPS or CDMA, or NTP and PTP packet-based methods.
TestCenter protocol emulation is licensed separately. It covers enterprise and data center switching (OpenFlow, routing, multicast and bridging) and service provider protocols, including routing and MPLS, access, Carrier Ethernet and mobile backhaul.
