Overview
The VIAVI Xgig CDFP 16-lane Interposer for PCI Express 5.0 (Xgig5P-PCIe5-X16-CDFPB) supports analysis of PCIe 5.0 communication between two CDFP devices connected by external cabling. CDFP/CopprLink is an external cabling interface used for applications such as PCIe fabrics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The interposer installs in the CDFP cable path between a 16-lane CDFP/CopprLink host port and a 16-lane CDFP endpoint device under test, and connects that link to the VIAVI Xgig PCIe 5.0 Analyzer/Exerciser/Jammer platform. Bidirectional PCIe 5.0 protocol data on each of the 16 lanes is captured at up to 32GT/s. Custom low-loss cables are supplied for connection to the Analyzer.
High-speed linear signal redrivers buffer the system data signals so that a clean signal reaches both the Analyzer and the devices under test. In Analyzer mode, data is tapped from both the upstream and downstream paths. In Jammer or Analyzer/Jammer mode, data flows through the Analyzer chassis for error injection. In Exerciser mode, the interposer allows the Exerciser to operate as a root complex or an endpoint.
The interposer has its own power supply, independent of the host system, and LEDs indicate power and operating status. It is supported by the VIAVI Xgig tool suite, including Trace Control, Expert and Serialytics, and is used for debug and validation of firmware, drivers, system BIOS and software, and for manufacturing test.
