Overview
The VIAVI J9200A is the premium configuration of the NITRO Core Traffic Storage Agent (TSA), a data access agent for NITRO Core. It is a 2U appliance with 12 x 12TB of local storage, supporting AC or DC power.
TSA passively monitors control-plane and user-plane IP traffic and TDM to generate network, service and customer KPIs (SMARTmetrics). These metrics can feed NITRO Core applications or third-party KPI applications and data lakes, with feed content tailored to output only the data a given application requires.
Traffic capture and indexing
TSA captures control-plane traffic frames, writes them to disk and indexes them in real time, including by IMSI, IMEI and MSISDN. Rather than processing all captured traffic continuously, the system supplies traffic associated with specific end-user data sessions or calls to troubleshooting applications on demand, such as the NITRO Core Session Trace app.
Service and application classification
A DPI engine identifies end-user services and applications, with support for more than 5,000 applications. User-plane records are enriched with service, APN/5G slice, handset, location and subscriber information to support performance and quality-of-experience analysis.
