Overview

The VIAVI CT-X is a frequency-agile digital leakage channel tagger installed in the cable headend. Used as a system with the VIAVI Seeker X leakage detectors, it is designed to increase leak detection sensitivity while rejecting false leaks.

The CT-X can generate up to four simultaneous tagged carriers that can be placed anywhere in the channel lineup between 130 and 1220 MHz. Its digital chirp tag is used together with the Seeker X detector to support driveout testing and find-and-fix work in the field.

In addition to the chirp tag, the CT-X generates Seeker D-compatible dual-CW tags, so a single transmitter can serve Seeker X, Seeker D and Seeker D Lite detectors. Unique tag signatures help identify which system is the source of a detected leak where several CATV systems operate in the same area (overbuilt situations).

Installation

The CT-X occupies 1RU of rack space and is installed near the combiner where RF signals reside in the headend. Setup is done from the push-button front panel or through the integrated web interface, which also allows remote administration.

Key Features

  • Digital chirp tag for leak detection with elimination of false detects
  • Full-band frequency agility from 130-1220 MHz for channel lineup flexibility
  • Up to 4 tags in a 1RU chassis
  • Non-interfering tag technology does not impact services
  • Integrated web interface for remote setup and administration
  • Seeker D-compatible dual-CW tags
  • Push-button front panel controls
