Overview

The VIAVI INX-750 is a member of the INX 700 series of handheld inspection probe microscopes for single-fiber, duplex and multifiber connector end faces. It is designed for field use and is VIAVI TPA (Test Process Automation) enabled, automating test setup, tip configuration, image panning and focus, end-face analysis and data storage.

According to VIAVI, contamination remains the leading cause of optical network problems. The INX 700 series addresses the growing mix of multifiber, VSFF duplex and simplex connectors in the field by handling all connector categories with the same workflow: the technician attaches the appropriate tip and inspects.

AutoID inspection tips

The microscope uses the FPT series of stainless-steel inspection tips. Each tip carries AutoID technology that configures the microscope for the connector type under test, sets the optical parameters and recalls the last analysis profile used with that tip, without additional optical attachments.

PanOptic Imaging Engine

The PanOptic Imaging Engine provides an edge-to-edge field of view without reducing magnification or resolution. For MT ferrules it captures a wide view including alignment pins and guide holes as well as detailed views of each fiber in the array; duplex connectors are shown side by side and analysed in a single test. Image analysis combines classical algorithms for standard cases with AI-augmented analysis for more complex inspections.

Construction and connectivity

Rugged stainless-steel tips thread onto a steel chassis that protects the optical system, and an energy-absorbing overmold and textured handle support use with or without gloves. The INX-750 connects through a USB-C port; wireless connectivity is reserved for the INX 76x models. The battery is quick-swappable and can be charged externally.
