Overview
The Calnex 1pps/ToD/Frequency Converter is an accessory supplied as option 133 for the Calnex Paragon-neo, Paragon neo-S, Paragon-X and Sentinel timing and synchronization test equipment. It adapts the timing and reference signals from a device under test to the formats that the Paragon and Sentinel inputs accept.
The converter splits a combined differential (RS-422) 1pps and Time of Day (ToD) serial signal on an RJ-45 connector into separate single-ended 1pps TTL and ToD RS-232 signals. It can also convert ToD RS-232 back to RS-422 and change 1pps TTL signals between connector formats.
For frequency work, the unit can produce a 2MHz output that follows the wander of a 10MHz input, so 10MHz wander can be measured against the 10MHz reference on the Paragon. Switch-selectable conversion between 10MHz and 25MHz reference signals is also provided.
The converter is powered directly over USB and shares the environmental specifications of the Calnex Paragon and Sentinel products.

RJ-45 is normally connected to Paragon 1pps and GPS inputs while the BNC is normally connected to Sentinel 1pps. Use crossover (null modem cable) to connect ToD RS-232 cable from accessory to the Paragon.
