Overview

The MU909015B1 belongs to Anritsu's μOTDR Module series (MU909014B/14B1/15B/15B1). The modules fit the Network Master MT9090A mainframe, and together they form a handheld OTDR small enough to hold in the palm of one hand.

Anritsu states that the series offers 5 cm resolution for mapping events, deadzones of less than 1 meter (3 feet) and a dynamic range of up to 37 dB. That is enough to test fiber spans of more than 150 km (90 miles) or PON-based FTTx networks with splits of up to 1 x 64.

An integrated launch fiber measures the first connector without external devices. A "Fiber Visualizer" mode lets users test without OTDR expertise. The platform also includes an optical power meter and a visible red-light source for general fiber maintenance, plus Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity.
