Overview
The ACCESS Master MT9085C-057 is the High Performance model of the Anritsu MT9085 series configured with a single-mode OTDR module at 1310, 1550 and 1625 nm. The 1625 nm maintenance wavelength supports macrobend analysis, and the model is aimed at long-haul and ultra-long-haul installation and maintenance (I&M) work.
The MT9085 series is a compact handheld all-in-one tester for optical pulse tests, optical loss and power measurements and optical fiber end-face inspection. It combines an 8-inch color LCD touchscreen with the hard keys and rotary knob used on previous ACCESS Master models, and the pressure-sensitive touchscreen accepts input without removing work gloves.
OTDR measurement
The Fiber Visualizer function displays events such as splices, connectors, PON splitters and the fiber far end as schematic icons with distance, loss and reflectance Pass/Fail results. Two realtime sweep modes (high-speed and high S/N) help locate fiber bends, and multi-pulse measurement supports accurate loss and reflectance measurement between closely spaced events. PON splitter analysis covers up to 1 × 128 branches, and bi-directional analysis averages traces measured from both ends of the fiber.
Loss, power and end-face inspection
A stabilized light source and an optical power meter are built in as standard through the OTDR port; dedicated power meter options add a separate port for optical loss testing (OLTS). A visual fault locator option and the external G0306C Video Inspection Probe extend the unit to fault location and end-face Pass/Fail evaluation per IEC61300-3-35.
Data management
Measurement data can be saved as original files (.sor, .vipi), .csv files, screen captures or PDF reports, and transferred via USB memory, USB cable, WLAN or Ethernet (via USB adapters). The unit can be controlled remotely using a web browser GUI or remote commands, and Scenario Manager Lite runs predefined test procedures without a PC.
