Overview
The Anritsu MA2482D is a member of the MA248xD series of universal power sensors for average power measurement. It covers 10 MHz to 18 GHz and offers a dynamic range of 80 dB, from -60 to +20 dBm. It can measure average power on CW, multi-tone and modulated RF waveforms such as 3G, 4G and OFDM signals.
The sensor architecture uses three pairs of diodes, each configured to operate in its square-law region over the sensor's dynamic range. As a result, the sensor measures true RMS power regardless of the type or bandwidth of the modulation on the input signal.
Option 1 (MA2480/01) adds a fast CW mode for high-speed measurement of CW signals, along with TDMA and pulse measurement capability. With this option, one of the diode pairs is calibrated for linearity over a wide dynamic range. Calibration factors are stored in the sensor's EEPROM.
