Overview

The Anritsu 5L35 is a handheld optical light source in the CMA5 Series, providing a stable laser source at 1310 nm and 1550 nm for point-to-point attenuation measurement on single-mode fiber. The dual wavelengths address WDM testing applications.

The CMA5 Series is designed for installation and maintenance of optical fiber networks. The units are compact and lightweight, with a rugged design built to withstand the conditions of fiber optic cable installation and maintenance work.

The 5L35 uses a laser diode emitter and offers CW output as well as 270 Hz, 1 kHz and 2 kHz modulation for fiber identification. It runs from a single 9 V alkaline battery, with an optional AC adapter available. The connector adapter is user replaceable and is specified at time of order (FC/PC, SC/PC, ST/PC, FC/APC or SC/APC).

The 5L35 can be paired with a CMA5 Series optical power meter for loss measurements on single-mode links.
